The Scientific Center will launch the Fifth IMAX Film Festival beginning Thursday, June 16, 2011. The festival will include 4 films to be shown this summer. 3 of which are below. The program includes various activities such as exhibitions of photos and posters, and daily presentations of movies about World War II, a cooking and food fair in addition to the evening celebration of Victory Day. It covers the Palestinian story since 1948 up to this date & is presented in a simple, educational & interesting way. "Our Story" provides a definitive account of Palestinian history, charting occupation and displacement from 1948 up to the present day. Featuring shocking accounts from the Gaza war, the film is a must for anybody who wishes to hear the untold truths behind the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The first and up to date only Kuwaiti movie was released in 1972. "Bas Ya Bahar" (The cruel sea) was produced by Kuwaiti producer Khalid Al-Siddiq. Bas Ya Bahar is a beautiful personification of the treacherous sea and a critical representation of the harsh life in Kuwait before oil. Refreshments provided by AWARE.
